Financial Report
Alan Turner, Treasurer, presented the financial statement
for the month of February 2009 and a draft budget for 2009.
The revenue for February was $8220. This figure was
significantly higher than that for the previous year, the February
2008 revenue was $7466. The revenue to the end of
February was $19640.
February expenses were $9651, which included $2000 to
Dalhousie University and $2376 to Eastlink. Expenses
for February 2008 were 8946.
Alan reviewed the draft budget for 2009 noting that
if both the projected revenue and expenses were
accurate there would be a short fall of $14400 for
the year.
Alan moved the acceptance of his report
seconded by Kent.
During discussion focused on the 2009 budget
Andrew noted if the Board accepted his request
that he be placed on half time salary while
simultaneously raising Johnathan's hourly
rate from $12.25 to $15.00 the shortfall could
essentially be eliminated. Alan agreed that
if the rest of budget remained the same and Andrew's
suggestion was implemented within the next month
it could be feasible for CCN to complete 2009 without debt.
Alan proposed "That of the next pay period, for the
remainder of this year Andrew Wright be paid on a
half time salary basis and that Johnathan Thibodeau's
maintain his present work schedule but his hourly rate
be increased to $15.00." Moved by Alan,
seconded by Jim. Motion passed.
Technical Report
Johnathan gave the technical report.
The operating system was upgraded last month and is
functioning well.
He is testing a webmail version that is slightly
faster than the one now in use. So far it is promising.
Andrew showed a sample of the small poster which will
be displayed on the door of the each participating
store. These will be distributed with the the information
sheets.
Richard will speak on the Convenience Store Programme, and
an executive member of the Imagine Bloomfield programme will
be invited to speak on that initiative.
Andrew will check what connections Bloomfield Centre may
have in order to programme any wireless of or other displays.
Andrew will contact the auditor within the next few days.
